Parole In Place Program 2024 – Explore Benefits and Green Card Eligibility

The Parole in Place Program 2024 is an immigration parole program that lets some cousins of U.S. citizens who are not citizens live in the country briefly. In addition to reducing the possibility of family separation, this clause grants temporary legal status. In the past, PIP has mostly been given to the parents, partners, and children of American soldiers. This benefit can now also be asked for by stepchildren and partners of American citizens who do not have legal standing as of August 19, 2024.

You don’t have to leave the country to apply for a green card, which is the formal equivalent of citizenship, with PIP. In June, President Biden announced a big change that would make the current Parole in Place scheme better. PIP was formerly restricted to undocumented relatives of American service members. There is more information about military PIP in this Boundless guide. The most recent extension extends PIP protections to a larger category of undocumented spouses of citizens of the United States.
